Saint Peter’s Church Schola

Saint Peter's Episcopal Church Schola Established

David Bahrke, Director of Music and Organist of Saint Peter's Episcopal Church in West Allis, www.stpeterswestallis.com has established a Schola of singers. The ensemble rehearses Choral Mass Settings, Canticles, Anthems, Propers, and Psalmody on Sundays beginning at 10:50 AM after the 9:30 AM Holy Eucharist. Rehearsals are 45-60 minutes in length. The Schola sings for the Sunday Holy Eucharist and other services as scheduled. The repertoire includes a plainsong chant, Anglican Chant, and music written in various styles by composers of the 16th to 21st Centuries. For information on Schola's membership, contact David Bahrke at stpeterswa@gmail.com.

Pictured in the photo are the five charter members in a rehearsal. The parish has a Hinners/Crane mechanical key and stop-action pipe organ. The organ has Great, Swell and Pedal division keyboards, which play and control the 13 stops (sets of pipes) having different tonal sounds) and arranged into 16 ranks of pipes. Berghaus Pipe Organ Builders restored the organ to playing operation in the Summer of 2022.

For information about singing in the Schola contact David Bahrke via email at stpeterswa@gmail.com.
